Eminem Addresses Alec Baldwin and Halyna Hutchins Tragedy In Bold New Track
On October 21, 2021, Halyna Hutchins, 42, was fatally shot in New Mexico while working on the set of the Western movie Rust, starring Alec Baldwin.

Eminem’s latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), dropped on Friday and is packed with songs criticising recent events in pop culture. The album arrived on the same day actor Alec Baldwin’s criminal prosecution for the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was dismissed by a US Court. The ninth song on the album, Fuel, features rap regarding the shocking Rust shooting. The songs also make references to Sean “Diddy” Combs, Kanye West and Megan Thee Stallion.

“F–k around and get popped like Halyna Hutchins. Like I’m Alec Baldwin, what I mean is buckin’ you down, coup de grâce then,” Eminem raps.

On October 21, 2021, Hutchins, 42, was fatally shot in New Mexico while working on the set of the Western movie Rust, starring Baldwin.

Hutchins died after a gun, Baldwin was holding during rehearsals of the shoot, went off.

Joel Souza, the director, was also shot but escaped with minor injuries.

The armourer in charge of prop weaponry on Rust, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in March this year.

Baldwin had pled not guilty, claiming that he did not pull the trigger of the gun he was using as a prop, which was not meant to carry live ammunition.

Meanwhile, Eminem earlier stated in an Instagram post that The Death of Slim Shady is a “conceptual album,” meaning that tracks may “not make sense” if they are listened to “out of order.”

Eminem’s song Fuel mentioned not just Baldwin but also Sean “Diddy” Combs, another well-known personality.

Eminem raps, “Leave out a P, did he? (Yep)” in the song’s second verse.

The line “P, did he?” sounds a lot like “P. Diddy” when rapped.

Combs has faced nine lawsuits alleging sexual assault, all of which he denies.

The 15-time Grammy winner also bids farewell to Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. before linking Combs to Tupac’s death.

The passage alludes to allegations that Combs paid $1 million to suspected killer Duane Keith “Keffe D” Davis to assassinate both Tupac and his assistant, Suge Knight.
