On the occasion of the Vishu festival on Sunday, the makers of Jo and Jo fame announced Arun D Jose’s next directional project to be titled Bromance. Along with the announcement of the title, the first poster of the film was also released. The screenplay is being jointly written by director Arun, Raveesh Nath and Thomas P Sebastian. Arun and Raveesh have previously co-written Jo and Jo (2022) and Journey of Love 18+ (2023).
Bromance stars Arjun Ashokan, Mathew Thomas and Mahima Nambiar in the lead roles. The film also stars Kalabhavan Shajon, Binu Pappu, Shyam Mohan and Sangeeth Prathap in prominent roles. The technical crew of the film, produced by Ashiq Usman, includes cinematographer Akhil George, editor Chaman Chakko and music director Govind Vasantha.
Arjun’s upcoming films include Vishnu Vinay’s Anand Sreebala and Archana 31 Not Out-fame, Akhil Anilkumar’s next directorial venture. Mathew, who was last seen in Premalu, has Dileesh Karunakaran’s Lovely and Salaam Bukhari’s Udumbanchola Vision in the pipeline.
He made his debut with Orkut Oru Ormakoot, along with a group of newcomers, and first gained attention with Parava, the directorial debut of Soubin Shahir, and later with B. Tech and the Vijay Babu-produced sleeper hit June, with the Times of India describing him as “a scene stealer in his own right” for the latter film. He is the son of actor Harisree Ashokan. He has played supporting roles in his career with notable performances in Parava, B. Tech, Juni, Varathan, Unda, Super Sharanya and An International Local Story.
Meanwhile, Mahima Nambiar, the girl from Kasaragod who made a career in the South industry, is back in Malayalam through RDX. At the age of 15, she made her acting debut in the Malayalam film Kaaryasthan, playing Dileep’s sister, a role she described as “blink and miss”. She was working as an advertising model when director Samy tried to cast her in Sindhu Samaveli (2010), but she had to turn down the offer due to personal reasons.
