Being an actor isn’t just about the glitz and glamour, it’s a lot more than that. While some actors have to significantly alter their bodies to take on a role, there are also many others who sustain real injuries during shooting. So is the case with Hollywood star Halle Berry, who believes in giving complete physical commitment to a role. In a recent conversation, the actress revealed breaking at least 10 bones as a result of her action-oriented films.

Speaking to her The Union co-star Mark Wahlberg in the Netflix interview, The Monsters Ball also shared being “knocked out” three times.

“I’ve been knocked out three times. Got an arm broken, broke ribs twice—two ribs one time, three ribs another time. Broke a tailbone, broke two toes, and a finger — this finger,” she said as the duo sat down to talk about the injuries they’ve sustained on movie sets.

On the other hand, Wahlberg also spoke about his injuries, including a torn meniscus, a separated shoulder and a “bruised ego,” quite a few times. The duo even spoke about the other challenges that they had encountered while filming. Berry, who is known for performing some high-octane feats onscreen, including holding her breath underwater during the shoot of her 2012 film Dark Tide, added, “I played a free diver. I had to hold my breath for almost two and a half minutes. And that felt like an eternity. It felt like death was imminent.”

Additionally, she listed the impressive list of martial arts skills she has learned, including jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, kickboxing, taekwondo and shooting, while Wahlberg admitted crochet, ballet and tango dancing that he learned for The Other Guys.
