Archana Puran Singh is an important part of the comedy show, The Great Indian Kapil Show. It is back with its second season and is available on Netflix. Archana Puran Singh marked her debut as an actress with Nari Hira’s Abhishek, opposite Aditya Pancholi in 1987. The same year, she starred in Jalwa and shared the screen with Naseeruddin Shah. Later, she was roped in big banner films like Agneepath (1990), Saudagar, Shola Aur Shabnam, Aashiq Awara and Raja Hindustani. Later, she decided to just focus on supporting roles in Hindi films. A few of her notable works are Love Story 2050, Mohabbatein, Krrish, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Masti, De Dana Dan and Bol Bachchan.
Apart from the big screen, she also earned fame in the TV industry. She started off as a TV anchor with Wah, Kya Scene Hai on Zee TV. She became a household name with the show, Shrimaan Shrimati. She has also worked in Junoon and hosted Archana Talkies.
Archana Puran Singh did not shy away from reality shows and was first seen as a contestant in Nach Baliye 1 where she participated with her husband Parmeet Sethi. Later, she was seen as a judge on various comedy shows like Comedy Circus, and The Kapil Sharma Show and now she is back on The Great Indian Kapil Show.
Did you know that after her first marriage ended in divorce, she found love again, in her now-husband, Parmeet Sethi? Archana Puran Singh was born into a Punjabi family in Dehradun. She was inclined towards acting and modelling and ran away to Mumbai to pursue her career. As she progressed, she got married, but it eventually did not last long and ended in divorce. Later, at an event, she met Parmeet Sethi, a struggling artist at that time, while the actress was already an established name.
On a show, the actress had once revealed that she met the DDLJ actor at a party. She said that she was holding a magazine and he snatched it away from her, which made her feel bad. It was the way he apologised that she actually liked him. This incident, reportedly, marked the beginning of their friendship. As per reports, the duo began staying in a live-in relationship for some time. When she told her family about him, they were furious. Undeterred, the couple decided to tie the knot. They began looking for a priest at 11 pm in the night and finally, they found one and got married the next day. Today, the couple is happily married and has two children Aryaman and Ayushman.
