Taha Shah Badushha, who portrayed the role of Tajdar in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s recently released web series Heeramandi, has received warm reviews from fans and critics alike. Basking in its success, the actor recently visited Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak temple to seek blessings from Lord Ganpati.
Several photos of the actor have now gone viral on social media. The young actor looked dapper in a white kurta and donned one of his brightest smiles when the shutterbugs captured him. He was spotted outside the temple in the Prabhadevi area of Mumbai.
Taha’s journey to landing the role of Tajdar in the highly anticipated series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, is nothing short of inspiring.
During the trailer launch of Heeramandi, Taha opened up about his character and how a part that was initially intended for just a 3-day part led to his expanded role in the series. “I have gotten this character after giving a lot of auditions. Since the last 12 years, I have worked hard to get here, and now working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, sir, is like a dream come true. I feel that Tajdar and I have a lot of resemblance. I resonate with the character. He yearns for love. He sees everything through the lenses of kindness and tries not to step over people.”
He further added, “That’s the kind of personality he has. When I was first approached for this role, I had just been given a 3-day part. I had signed the contract for that as well, but maybe Sanjay Sir saw something in me and decided to extend my part in the series to a lot more than it was originally planned.”
News18 Showsha gave the series 4.5 stars. Speaking of Taha’s performance, the review read, Taha Shah Badussha, who plays Tajdar Baloch, proves his mettle in many scenes, particularly those he shares with Alamzeb. Adhyayan Suman plays a cold-blooded and manipulative nawab named Zoravar. He has limited screen time but impresses in a key confrontation scene with Lajjojaan and Mallikajaan. Shekhar Suman and Fardeen Khan don’t have much meat to chew on.
Heeramandi was released on May 1 on Netflix. Helmed by Santa Leela Bhansali, the series stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Richa Chadha. Sanjeeda Shaikh and Sharmin Segal Mehta are in the lead roles.
