Abhishek Bachchan is one of the leading men in Bollywood, who has garnered fame through successful multi-starrer releases. However, as the son of Amitabh Bachchan, the face of Indian cinema, Abhishek has yet to match his father’s stardom.
Abhishek Bachchan has been a part of the film industry for over two decades now. But in these two decades, the actor’s 29 releases turned out to be failures at the box office, as per the reports of Bollywood Hungama. Despite this, Abhishek continued starring in big releases, several of which became some of the biggest hits of Bollywood. If the reports are to be believed, the actor charges Rs 12 crore for a project.
Abhishek Bachchan’s last hit release was Houseful 3, the reports add. Released in 2016, the film was made under the direction of Sajid-Farhad, also credited as the writer. The cast included Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Lisa Haydon and Jackie Shroff. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the songs in the film were composed by the likes of Mika Singh, Tanishk Bagchi and Milind Gaba. Vikas Sivaraman has done the cinematography while the editing is done by Steven H Bernard. The film had its theatrical release on June 3, 2016, and became a super hit at the box office. It collected over Rs 195 crore, as per the reports.
Some of Abhishek’s other hit releases include films like the Dhoom franchise, Happy New Year, Dostana and more. In the Dhoom releases, he portrayed the role of ACP Jai Dixit. The first two parts of the franchise were directed by Sanjay Gadhvi while Dhoom 3 was helmed by Vijay Krishna Acharya.
According to new reports, Abhishek Bachchan is now prepping for his upcoming big release, titled King. The actor is roped in for the role of the antagonist, adding more reports. The film will star Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan while Sujoy Ghosh is the director.
