Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s daughter, Ira Khan, formalised her marriage with fiance Nupur Shikhare on January 3, Wednesday. The newlyweds are now gearing up for their traditional ceremonies set to take place in Udaipur.
The couple, now legally married, is expected to travel to Udaipur for their traditional celebrations, surrounded by close family and friends. The wedding festivities are scheduled to occur at the Taj Aravali Resort, situated on Kodiyat Road in Udaipur, from January 8 to 10. The entire hotel, boasting 176 rooms, has been reserved for approximately 250 guests, including Bollywood luminaries and relatives of both the bride and groom.
Sources reveal that the wedding events will maintain an intimate, family-centric atmosphere. Following the traditional functions in Udaipur, the couple will return to Mumbai for a lavish reception at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre on January 13. Guests attending this reception have been advised against bringing gifts and are instead encouraged to convey their blessings. Rumours suggest the presence of Salman Khan and Saira Banu at the ceremony.
Nupur Shikhare proposed to Ira in 2022 and serves as a fitness trainer, holding the official position for both Ira and Aamir Khan. The pre-wedding festivities commenced with a Haldi ceremony on January 2.
The formalisation of their marital status took place with the signing of the marriage registration document at the Taj Lands End in Mumbai’s Bandra area on Wednesday. Aamir Khan, along with his ex-wives Kiran Rao and Reena Dutta, Ira Khan’s brothers Junaid Khan and Azad, Nupur Shikhare’s mother, Pritam Shikhare, and businessman Mukesh Ambani, accompanied by Nita Ambani, attended the wedding.
Ira Khan shared the first picture with her husband post the marriage registration, garnering significant attention. The couple’s unconventional approach to the wedding, particularly Nupur Shikhare’s choice of attire and mode of arrival, jogging from Santacruz to the Bandra area instead of a traditional horse, has sparked conversations.
The upcoming events are anticipated to blend tradition and modernity, as the Bollywood and business elite come together to celebrate the union of Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare.
