Malayalam filmmaker Shaji Kailas’ son Rushin S Kailas is all set to step into films with Gangs of Sukumara Kurup. Now, according to the latest update, the movie’s filming has come to an end. Produced by Prajeev Sathyavrathan under the banner of Prajeevam Movies and directed by Shebi Chaughat, the shooting of Gangs of Sukumara Kurup was reportedly completed on March 3 in Thiruvananthapuram and nearby areas. The shooting started on January 31, 2024. Gangs of Sukumarakurup is the first film where Prajeev Sathyavrathan — the producer of Finals and Two — and Shebi Chaughat, who directed Plus Two, Bobby and Kakipada, are teaming up. Actor Abu Salim plays the title character of Sukumara Kurup in the movie.
Surya Krish, Johnny Antony, Tiny Tom, Iniya, Sreejith Ravi, Sujith Shankar, Dinesh Panicker, Sinoj Varghese, Iniya, Vaishnav, Sonia Malhar, Sabu Gundukad, Sundar, Ashraf Palaikkal are other actors who will feature in the film. VR Balagopal has written the screenplay and dialogue of the film.
The makers of Gangs Of Sukumara Kurup unveiled its first-look poster last month. The team took an unconventional route; instead of depicting the lead cast, the first look presented a visual narrative by featuring Dulquer Salmaan’s face on a wanted poster. Shaji Kailas shared the poster on Instagram. He congratulated the entire team of the film. For those who are wondering what Dulquer Salmaan’s connection with the film is, allow us to explain. The actor played the role of Sukumara Kurup in the film Kurup. The 2021 Malayalam-language movie is a biographical crime thriller based on fugitive Sukumara Kurup. Whether he will be starring or playing a cameo in this film is not known.
