Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya has released in cinemas today, February 9, and it reveals Janhvi Kapoor has a vital role in the film. The film, directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, stars Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in the lead. As the trailer has already revealed, the film revolves around a man falling in love with a robot. While News18 Showsha has given the film a 3-star rating in our review, we can also confirm that the film has an interesting cameo by Janhvi Kapoor.
Warning, Spoilers Ahead: Although we cannot reveal many details about the film, we can tell you that Janhvi Kapoor appears in the film as Shahid Kapoor’s colleague in the film. She plays the role of a robotic engineer that has recently joined Shahid’s company in the film. She is seen hitting on Shahid, asking him out for a cup of coffee while Kriti’s robotic character watches from afar. Would this mean that Shahid and Janhvi could team up for a film? You’ll have to wait and watch.
As per the News18 Showsha review, Shahid and Kriti delivered impressive performances. “Shahid shares a scintillating onscreen chemistry with Kriti. So – and filmmakers, please take note – it would be interesting to see the duo in a regular new-age love story with no preachy message, a genre that we all have been yearning for a while now,” the review read.
“Kriti plays the part with a lot of earnestness. She steers clear of any robotic caricature but still manages to play a robot with human-like expressions and mannerisms. It’s a tough space to play around with and so, Kriti deserves applause,” the review added.
Directed by debut directors Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, the film has a runtime of 143.15 minutes, or 2 hours, 23 minutes, and 15 seconds. It has been granted U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Bollywood Hungama recently reported that CBFC cut a scene where the characters are intimate, making it 25% shorter. They removed 9 seconds, reducing the original 36-second sequence to 27 seconds. Besides this, the CBFC also changed the word ‘Daru’ to ‘Drink’ in the second half of the film.
