The spy thriller film Ulajh, is winning hearts of the audience with its gripping storyline and stellar performances. Janhvi Kapoor’s portrayal of Suhana Bhatia, a determined young diplomat, navigating a complex web of international intrigue and political conspiracies, has captivated viewers, making Ulajh a must-watch film this season.
The film also features a solid ensemble cast consisting of Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Adil Hussain, Meiyang Chang, Rajesh Tailang, Jitendra Joshi and Rajendra Gupta. This film is written by Sudhanshu Saria and Parveez Shaikh, with dialogue by Atika Chauhan, and also directed by Sudhanshu Saria. Produced by Junglee Pictures, Ulajh is running in cinemas now.
Recently, director Sudhanshu Saria opened up about the challenges Janhvi faced during filming and revealed that the actress ran 1000 meters barefoot through the streets of Bhopal to ensure the successful completion of a crucial scene.
The climax scene, shot in Bhopal, required Janhvi to run 1000 meters barefoot through crowded and narrow lanes. Even though the actress had to run through live locations, giving multiple takes to perfect the shot, she was so mentally immersed in her character that despite enduring several injuries during the takes, she tuned out everything and captured the honest and raw emotions of Suhana.
Ulajh has received mixed reviews. News18 Showsha has given the film a three-star rating and wrote, “Despite the shortcomings in the writing, director Sudhanshu Saria manages to get the cast right. With Ulajh, Janhvi has proved that she not only has a knack for interesting concepts (Mili and Good Luck Jerry are also good examples of this) but has been working on her craft as well. She does a great job in the film, especially in the action sequences.”
“The highlight of the film is undoubtedly Gulshan Devaiah. The actor delivers a memorable performance. He goes from looking hot to truly getting under your skin in two hours, and I am here for it. Another standout performance in the film was by Roshan Mathew,” the review mentioned.
