Giving a shoutout to Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal, Saba Azad reshared the Fukrey actress’ post on her Instagram stories along with a sweet message.

Girls Will Be Girls, the debut production of soon-to-be parents Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal, is making records. The coming-of-age movie has recently bagged the Grand Jury Prize at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA). Celebrating the milestone, Richa’s close friend and Hrithik Roshan’s beau Saba Azad posted a story on Instagram. Giving a shoutout to the couple, Saba reshared the Fukrey actress’ post and wrote, “Hell to the yeahhhh!!! GO GO GO!!!” She also tagged Richa and Ali in her story to congratulate them.

The original post shared by Richa Chadha featured a few images depicting the milestones achieved by the film. The Heeramandi actress accompanied the post with an elaborate note wherein she expressed gratitude to the cast and crew of the film. She wrote, “Before the day ends, I wanna express my gratitude to the team of ‘Girls Will Be Girls’ – this film is a gift that keeps on giving! We will always be proud of it!”

Reflecting on the achievements, she added in her caption, “After a great run at Transylvania International Film Festival @transilvaniafilm where we won the Grand Jury Prize and Biarritz Film Festival in France, our humble film won the Grand Jury prize at @indianfilmfestival ! I wish we could travel but the reason as you know is that @alifazal9 and I are bringing in a little home production.”

Proceeding further, Richa Chadha also heaped praises on Kani Kusruti and Preeti Panigrahi. The duo played the lead roles in the film. She concluded by saying, “We hope to bring this lovely film to India, it is an Indian film after all and we want our people to see it.”

Directed by Shuchi Talati, Girls Will Be Girls has been backed by Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal under their production house Pushing Buttons Studios. Additionally, Crawling Angel Films, Blink Digital and France’s Dolce Vita Films also joined them to back the movie.

Girls Will Be Girls navigates the life of 16-year-old Mira (Panigrahi). Her tumultuous relationship with her mother (Kusruti) and the journey of teenage love through the lens of the societal judgment of female desire form the basic plot of the film.

As for the personal life of Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal, the couple is set to embrace parenthood in July this year. The couple got married in 2020 and celebrated their union with friends and family in 2022.
