Asif Ali-starrer mystery film Kishkindha Kaandam is gearing up for release on September 12. The makers have now released the trailer for the film on their social media handle. Directed by Dinjith Ayyathan, the trailer offers a glimpse of a thrilling journey through the wilderness of Kerala. The trailer begins on a light note with a charming background score. The tagline of the film read, “A tale of three wise monkeys." In the trailer, Ajay (played by Asif Ali) said while referring to his native place, “Except Hanuman and Sugriva, the entire army of monkeys resides here." The trailer also refers to the imposition of Section 144 in the area following a public threat and strong Naxal movements ranging back to the 1970s. The name of Kishkindha Kaandam is taken from one of the chapters of the great Indian epic, The Ramayana.
As soon as the trailer was released, it garnered significant responses on YouTube. Many users also dropped heart emojis and praised the actors and makers for the film. A user wrote, “Asif ali is not simply acting, he is just living in that character. pure goosebumps overloaded." Another said, “Seems like a very promising thriller movie with freshness in BGM and sound design."

Directed by Dinjith Ayyathan, the film features Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali in the lead roles. The film also stars Vijayaraghavan, Jagadish, Ashokan, Nishan, Vaishnavi Raj, Major Ravi, Nizhalkal Ravi, Shebin Benson, Kottayam Ramesh, Bilas Chandrahasan, Master Aarav, and Jibin Gopinath. It is produced by Joby George under the banner Goodwill Entertainments. The screenplay, dialogues, and cinematography for the film are handled by Bahul Ramesh. The editing for the film is done by Sooraj ES, while the music is composed by Mujeeb Majeed. The film marks Dinjith Ayyathan’s second directorial venture after the satirical comedy-drama Kakshi: Amminippilla, which was released in 2019.
