Konkona Sen Sharma Reviews Zendaya's Challengers: 'Loved Watching This Romantic Thriller'
Konkona Sen Sharma has showered appreciation on the tennis-based romance starring Zendaya, Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist.

Challengers, starring Zendaya, Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist, has been earning quite a lot of praise from the viewers. The sports drama, helmed by Luca Guadagnino, has also been atop the American box office. Now, Indian actress Konkona Sen Sharma has showered appreciation on the tennis-based flick, saying that she loved watching the romantic thriller.

The actress and filmmaker shared the poster of Challengers on her Instagram story and noted, “Loved watching this romantic thriller! What a fun ride!” Konkona also added a part of Challengers: Match Point track to her story update.

Zendaya plays the role of a tennis prodigy-turned-coach named Tashi who retired following an injury. The actor-singer later helps her husband, played by Mike Faist, prepare for a crucial tennis match. The game is against a player, portrayed by Josh O’Connor, who is also her former lover and his onetime best friend. Challengers hit the big screens on April 26.

Meanwhile, rumours have been doing rounds that Konkona Sen Sharma is dating her Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare co-star, Amol Parashar. A parody account on X mentioned that Konkona took the best decision to leave her ex-husband Ranvir Shorey and date Parashar. This was followed by Shorey’s ‘I agree’ comment on the post which added fuel to the dating speculations.

Konkona Sen and Ranvir Shorey began dating in 2007 and tied the knot in September 2010. They welcomed their son Haroon in March 2011. About five years into their marriage, Konkona and Ranvir decided to part ways in 2015.

On the work front, Konkona last appeared in Abhishek Chaubey’s Netflix India original series Killer Soup. She will be next seen in Anurag Basu’s Metro. In Dino, the sequel to the 2007 film Life in a Metro. Ranvir, on the other hand, was last seen in a cameo appearance in Manish Sharma’s Tiger 3.

Konkona Sen and Ranvir Shorey have starred in many films together, including Mixed Doubles in 2006, Aaja Nachle in 2007 and the 2015 period drama Gour Hari Dastaan. The actor has also featured in Konkona’s directorial debut, A Death in the Gunj, in 2017.
