Krushna Abhishek On Why He Doesn't Mind Kapil Sharma’s Joking About Him: 'All For Fun'
Krushna shared there are times Kapil Sharma makes jokes on him, but he does not feel bad as he takes it in a fun manner.

Krushna Abhishek has over the years made a name for himself in the comedy industry. He is known for his one-liners and ability to don various characters on stage. He was recently seen entertaining audiences in the cooking reality show Laughter Chefs and is now part of the second season of The Great Indian Kapil Show. In a recent interview, Krushna Abhishek opened up on how the meaning of comedy has changed over time and the restrictions they have. He mentioned there are times Kapil Sharma makes jokes on him, but he does not feel bad as he takes it on a fun note.

In an interview with The Times of India, Krushna Abhishek explained how their jokes are intended to entertain the audience rather than damage anyone’s sentiments. Explaining his point of view, Krushna mentioned that Kapil Sharma often makes fun of him, but he takes it in stride as he understands it’s just for the audience to have a good time. He noted, “People don’t see how much we make fun of ourselves! Kapil makes so much fun of me, saying, ‘Mama doesn’t talk to him; why should we?’ But I don’t feel bad because I know it’s all for fun. But yes, there are so many restrictions now. It does affect comedy. People need to understand that we’re only trying to make them laugh.”

Krushna mentioned that he also makes fun of Kapil and the latter does not take it personally. He stated, “I make fun of Kapil too, like asking, ‘Has anyone seen Firangi?’ But does Kapil feel bad? No! If an actor’s film hasn’t done well and we make a joke about it, they should take it lightly.” However, the comedian-actor added that there is always a difference between “making fun of someone and having fun with someone.”

Furthermore, he noted that both Kapil Sharma and he, along with the entire team of The Great Indian Kapil Show, aim to have a diverse and inclusive audience. He added that when they get down to script, they explore several layers of jokes. However, when it comes to finalising them, they consider which jokes may cause problems in the future, and if they think something could be misinterpreted, they restrict themselves. Krushna Abhishek noted that it is important to strike a balance while ensuring everyone enjoys the humour.
