A prominent name in the Malayalam film industry, actor Kunchacko Boban is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film titled Grrr. The promotions for the film are in full swing. This time, the makers have taken a unique step to promote the film, involving children. Kunchacko Boban and Suraj Venjaramoodu, the leads of the film, presented children with special masks and textbook name slips, as part of its promotion. The slips were printed with the image of a lion named Darshan, one of the main characters in the film. Reportedly, the makers believe that once the schools reopen, they will get to have a unique experience with Grrr’s release. The image shows the lead cast of the film posing in front of the camera with several children standing in front of them, each one of them showing a name slip to the camera.
As per more reports, the role of Darshan the lion is being played by a real lion named Mojo, who has previously appeared in Hollywood as well as Bollywood films.
The film’s official teaser was released earlier last month on May 4. The clip was posted on the official YouTube channel of Goodwill Entertainments. The video starts with a drunk man (Kunchacko Boban) venturing into a zoo enclosure housing a lion, scaring the visitors outside. The police are called to handle the guy who refuses to get out despite being manhandled by multiple officers. When the lion finally comes out of his cave, the unnamed man challenges the predator to a fight.
Fans share their reactions to the video in the replies below. The first user wrote, “Probably the best performance of Kunchacko Boban’s film career so far." Another fan stated, “Cool concept…two best actors are on hand. Now everything is in the hands of the director." While a third user wrote, “Hope this movie will be successful."
Grrr is being helmed by Jay K, while the producers are Shaji Nadesan and Arya. While composers Dawn Vincent, Kailas Menon and Tony Tarz are doing the music. Jayesh Nair is the cinematographer and the editing is being done by Vivek Harshan. The film is releasing on June 14.
