Rajkumar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer film Mr and Mrs Mahi is currently running in theatres. This movie has received good reviews from critics. The film made a tremendous collection at the box office on the first day, but there has been a slight decline on the first Sunday. Mr and Mrs Mahi collected Rs 6.75 crore on the opening day. The film earned Rs 4.6 crore on the second day of its release. According to Sacnilk, the film earned a total of Rs 5.50 crore across the country on the third day, which was Sunday. Mr and Mrs Mahi is a sports drama family film. Its story revolves around unsuccessful cricket player Mahendra aka Mahi (character played by Rajkumar Rao) and Dr Mahima (played by Janhvi Kapoor). Mahi wants to become a cricketer, but his dream remains unfulfilled. Mahi gets married to Mahima and discovers that she has cricketing abilities. He then coaches her to pursue her dream of becoming a cricketer.
The film is directed by Sharan Sharma and produced by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions. Stars like Rajesh Sharma, Kumud Mishra and Abhishek Banerjee have played important roles in it. Before Mr and Mrs Mahi, Rajkumar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor worked together in the horror drama film Stree.
News18 Showsha has rated the film 3/5, and has given the following review: “While the writing lacks the depth, director Sharan Sharma, Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao make up for it. The film is packaged well, with Sharan adding all the right elements of a trademark Dharma film making it a visually appealing film. He also falls back on the refreshing music album which works well in his favour. Sharan also benefits from his leading stars, who follow his vision seamlessly. Janhvi imbibes the role of a cricketer well. She brings a breath of fresh air every time the film gets a little gloomy. Rajkummar as the dejected Mahendra steals the show. He carries the film on his shoulder in most parts. The scenes in which he embraces the grey side of his character prove he is a great fit for the role.”
