Nayanthara Says She's A Shah Rukh Khan Fan, REVEALS His Best Quality: 'The Fact That He Respects...'

Nayanthara is one of the most sought-after actresses in the Tamil film industry. Fans call her “Lady Thalaivi” because of her successful career. In a recent interview with Hello magazine, she talked about her experience working with Shah Rukh Khan in Atlee’s Jawan that served as her Bollywood debut. In the interview, Nayanthara said she was thrilled to work with her close friend, filmmaker Atlee. When asked about starring opposite Shah Rukh in the action-thriller, she questioned, “Who doesn’t love him?” In the action-packed film, Nayanthara played Narmada Rai, the leader of Force One, Mumbai’s counter-terrorism unit. Shah Rukh took on a double role as both father and son in Jawan. Deepika Padukone had a cameo, while Vijay Sethupathi portrayed the antagonist. Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Riddhi Dogra, Sunil Grover, Girija Oak and Omkar Das Manikpuri had pivotal roles and Sanjay Dutt made a special appearance.

Opening up on Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara said, “Who is not his fan? We have all grown up watching his films and we all love them. Apart from being the huge star that he is, I really admire the fact that he respects women a lot… I was pretty sure that Jawan would create a huge impact. After working so many years in the industry you know when a film is going to work and vice versa.”

In the same interview, Nayanthara and husband Vignesh Shivan revealed that it was Dhanush who played Cupid for them and brought them together. Vignesh shared, “Dhanush sir made me narrate the story (of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan) to Nayan (Nayanthara). She liked it. Once she came on board, I was able to cast actor Vijay Sethupathi, who was initially not keen to do this film. He was not convinced about the script. But he agreed after Nayan said yes. The movie paved the way for me to spend a lot of time around her. We got involved within a year.”
