Today marks the fourth anniversary of the passing of the legendary actor Rishi Kapoor. He departed on April 30th, 2020, following a prolonged battle with leukaemia. Fondly referred to as Chintu Ji, Rishi Kapoor left an indelible mark on the Hindi film industry. From his debut in Mera Naam Joker to his final film Sharma Ji Namkeer, he captivated audiences with his exceptional performances and charismatic persona. On this day, we honour his legacy by celebrating the highlights of his illustrious career, including his best films, iconic songs, and memorable dialogues.

In 1980, Rishi Kapoor married his co-star Neetu Singh, with whom he shared screen space in several films, including Amar Akbar Anthony, Kabhie Kabhie, Khel Khel Mein and more. They were blessed with two children, actor Ranbir Kapoor and designer Riddhima Kapoor Sahani.

Neetu Kapoor once recalled how they got married. On a dinner date, Rishi asked Neetu the reason behind signing so many movies and her plans to get married. When Neetu said that she didn’t have a boy to marry. “Rishiji asked, ‘You are signing so many movies, don’t you want to get married?’ He was thinking about it, I had no idea. He had never said that he wanted to get married. We were just dating. So I said, ‘There has to be a boy to get married to. Rishiji said, ‘So who am I?’” she recalled. Once they decided to marry, Rishi asked her to wrao her projects in-hand soon so that they could start a family soon.

Neetu made her acting comeback last year with Jugjugg Jeeyo.
