Oviya Filed A Complaint With The Commissioner Against 'Morphed Video', Says Manager: 'It's A Sensitive Issue'
Speaking to News18, Oviya's manager claimed that the actress has sought legal action against the person responsible for the viral video. 

An alleged private video of actress Oviya, known for Kalavani and Bigg Boss Tamil Season 1, was making the rounds of social media. The notorious incident has been the talk of all leading social media platforms with many rumours afloat. Actress Oviya, on the other hand, hasn’t made an official statement regarding the ongoing controversy. However, she replied to many users who harassed her in the comments section of her Instagram posts. Many lauded her for handling the issues with sarcasm, while others questioned why she is not denying the claims. 

Meanwhile, News18 got in touch with Oviya’s manager, who claimed that the actress has filed a complaint with the Chennai police commissioner and will be taking necessary action against the culprit. “It is a morphed video made by someone who wanted to tarnish the name of Oviya. She has taken the matter to the police commissioner and will take necessary legal action against the culprit,” he said. When asked about the details of the accused, Oviya’s manager said, “It is a sensitive issue. So, I can’t reveal such details” When trying to reach Oviya, the manager claimed that she is currently unwell and cannot be contacted.

Social media continues to be abuzz with talks about the scandal. Many have come down heavily on people sharing the screenshots of the viral clip.

Actress Oviya made her acting debut with the Malayalam film Kangaroo. She later became famous with the Tamil film Kalavani, which had actor Vemal in the lead role. The film became a blockbuster and Oviya was roped in for notable projects like Marina and Kalakalappu. She became immensely popular for her stint at Bigg Boss Tamil Season 1, where she was harassed by other teammates. Her statements like “Neenga Shut up Pannunga” in the house became part of Tamil pop culture. It also made Tamil merchandise like t-shirts. She had to exit the show as she tried to self-harm herself inside the house. 

She was later part of films like 90ML, Muni 4, and Kalavani 2. She is currently part of projects Sambhavam and Raja Bheema.
