Rajiv Thakur On The Great Indian Kapil Show’s Popularity: 'Logo Ko Galat Fehmi Hai Ki Chala Nahi'

Rajiv Thakur is a known comedian and has worked closely with Kapil Sharma over the years. He became famous after appearing on Comedy Circus and The Kapil Sharma Show. Most recently, he was also a part of The Great Indian Kapil Show, which was streamed on Netflix. In his latest interview, he discussed the show’s success on the OTT platform after being popular on TV. He shed light on how there is a misconception that the show was not received well on OTT.

During an interview with Telly Chakkar, Rajiv Thakur was questioned why The Great India Kapil Show did so well on TV but did not do as well on Netflix. However, he denied all such claims and stated, “Actually logo ko galat fehmi hai ki chala nahi. Shayad joh TV hai woh sab log dekh pate hai lekin Netflix pe agar nai chala hota toh second season nai bana hota. Kyuki wh bahut professional log hai, bahar ki company hai woh sirf figures dekhti hai (People mistakenly believe that the show did not perform adequately. Everyone may watch TV, but if it did not thrive on Netflix, there would be no second season. Netflix is professional and focuses solely on numbers).”

Rajiv Thakur went ahead and told the publication that, “Unke (Netflix) figures bade hai Kapil Sharma show ke saath (Netflix’s numbers with The Kapil Sharma Show have increased).” He added that fans of Kapil Sharma have subscribed to Netflix and are watching the show. This is a success because you are able to transition the audience to a variety of platforms.

Recently, Kapil Sharma announced that he is poised to return with the second season of his iconic show, The Great Indian Kapil Show. In a new video shared on Netflix’s page, Kapil, Archana Puran Singh, Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda and Rajeev Thakur made the announcement together. The release date of the second season of the comedy show is yet to be unveiled.
