Rakshana Makers Threatened To Ban Me From Telugu Cinema: Actress Payal Rajput

RX 100 fame Payal Rajput is embroiled in a dispute with the makers of one of her films, Rakshana, which escalated on Monday. Payal took to her official X (formerly Twitter) and shared that the producers threatened to ban her from Tollywood (Telugu cinema) if she didn’t promote the film. She also revealed that they’ve complained to her with the Telugu Film Producers Council (TFPC).

Payal went to X and Instagram on Sunday and shared her version of the story. The actress wrote, “I have a film, Rakshana, shot in 2019 and 2020, originally named 5Ws. The release was delayed, and now they’re trying to benefit from my recent success without clearing dues and demanding a promotion. My team communicates my unavailability due to prior commitments, but they threaten to ban me from Telugu cinema.”

Sharing the post, the actress wrote, “An important message to my fans and the film fraternity. #needjustice” in the caption. Take a look at the post.

She further alleged that in previous meetings they used “inappropriate language” and now she and her team are taking legal action. Payal added that they are now releasing the film without her permission.

The TFPC also recently released a press note on Monday stating that the producers had filed a complaint against the actor with the council in March. They said that they had received a complaint from producer and director Prandeep Thakore over Payal’s failure to allocate promotional days for the film.

He had intended to release the movie in April, but she objected, stating it was four years old, and instead requested that it be released on OTT. They also claimed that the producers offered to pay Rs 6 lakh if she attended the promotions, but she declined.

Payal was last seen in the Telugu psychological mystery thriller film Mangalavaaram. The film was written and directed by Ajay Bhupathi. Swathi Reddy Gunupati, Suresh Varma M, and Ajay Bhupathi are the producers, with Mudhra Media Works and A Creative Works handling the distribution. The film’s ensemble cast includes Payal Rajput, Nandita Swetha, Priyadarshi Pulikonda, Divya Pillai, Ajmal Ameer, Chaitanya Krishna, and Ravindra Vijay.
