Rashmika Mandanna Calls Ranbir Kapoor's Animal Character ‘Stupid’, Asks Fans To Trust ‘Good Men’
Previously, Rashmika Mandanna also questioned those who called Animal 'toxic' and stated that despite everything, people enjoyed the film.

Rashmika Mandanna never hesitates to put forth her opinion on social media. The actress often interacts with her fans online. Recently, Rashmika reacted to a user who was referring to her Animal character Gitanjali as she also urged her fans not to fall for “stupid men”.

A user recently shared an edited video of Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial’s Animal on X (formerly known as Twitter). In the clip, Rashmika’s character was seen suffering after she learned about her husband, Rannvijay’s (played by Ranbir Kapoor) extramarital affair. The video talked about how Rannvijay had a loyal wife but even then he fell in love with Triptii Dimri’s Zoya. When Geetanjali got to know about this, she broke down and decided to leave her husband.

Sharing the video, the social media user wrote, “Remember nothing is scarier than trusting a man…” However, Rashmika also reacted to the post and replied, “Correction : trusting a stupid man = scary.. there are a lot of good men also out there.. trusting those men = special (heart reaction emoticon).”

Released on December 1, 2023, Animal revolved around a man and his toxic relationship with his father. The film showed Vijay (played by Ranbir) as an anti-hero who would go to any lengths to protect his father, including gun down 200 people with machine gun. However, despite his efforts, he struggled to get a seal of approval from his emotionally unavailable father (played by Anil Kapoor). The film was a box office success and earned over Rs 900 crore worldwide.

However, the film was also slammed by many who argued that the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial is toxic and misogynistic. Previously, Rashmika appeared on Neha Dhupia’s podcast when she explained that Animal was ‘just about a character’ who’s ‘messed in the head.’ She called the film ‘raw, real and correct’ and stated that despite everything, people enjoyed it.

“He’s messed in the head and will go to any lengths for his father, that was engraved in my mind when I shot for the film. Nobody can do anything about it, it’s his story. If you want films to be raw, real and correct, Animal is that. After watching it, to say it’s misogynistic or whatever…if you enjoyed it, just leave it,” she said.

Meanwhile, Rashmika Mandanna will soon be seen in Pushpa 2: The Rule. The film, which also stars Allu Arjun in the lead, will hit theatres on August 15, 2024.
