Movie releases getting postponed is not at all uncommon but rarely do we find instances where a movie release is pre-poned from its scheduled date of release. Prithviraj Sukumaran fans will now be able to catch his upcoming film in theatres almost two weeks before its original date of release.

The Malayalam actor’s much-delayed film Aadujeevitham was originally scheduled to premiere on April 10. The release date has now been rescheduled by the makers. The most recent statement states that the movie will be released on March 28, which is two weeks earlier than its original release date. The film, which will be released internationally as The Goat Life, will also be released in Arabic. In the movie, Prithviraj Sukumaran plays Najeeb, a Malayali immigrant labourer who is kidnapped and sold into slavery to herd goats on a remote Saudi Arabian farm. One of the most well-known and highly regarded Malayalam novels, Aadujeevitham, which has been translated into twelve different languages serves as the basis for the film. Written by noted writer Benyamin, the movie is expected to take Malayalam cinema to new heights. The film, which was produced by Visual Romance and directed by Blessy, the winner of the National Award, also stars Jimmy Jean-Louis from Hollywood, KR Gokul and Amala Paul from India, and Talib al Balushi and RikAby from Saudi Arabia in pivotal roles.

Academy Award winners AR Rahman and Resul Pookutty, respectively, are responsible for the music and sound design of Aadujeevitham. Sreekar Prasad edited the movie, while Sunil KS handled the cinematography. Using six schedules, the main photography was conducted in stages between March 2018 and July 2022 in the Algerian and Jordanian deserts of Wadi Rum and the Sahara, with certain scenes also being shot in Kerala, India. The COVID-19 pandemic left the crew trapped in the Jordanian desert from March to May 2020 for a total of seventy days. Eventually, they were brought back to India through the Vande Bharat Mission evacuation scheme run by the Indian government. Filming for the movie shot in 3D, ended on July 14, 2022.
