Dakshina, the Sai Dhanshika-starrer psycho-thriller film, has finally locked a release date. The Osho Tulasiram-directorial, who previously helmed horror films like Mantra and Mangala, is all set to hit the big screens on October 4. The film is produced by Ashok Shinde under the banner of Cult Concepts and is being distributed by the renowned Mythri Movie Makers. Recently, the makers dropped a new poster of Dakshina on X and announced its official release date. “#Dakshina movie all set to grand theatrical release on Oct 4th, 2024.” Apart from Sai Dhansika, the film also features an ensemble cast of Rishabh Basu, Sneha Singh, Karuna, Arna Muller, Hima Shailja, Meghna Chaudhary and Naveen.
The film’s official trailer was released earlier in May this year at a grand ceremony, in which director Buchi Babu Sana was invited as a guest of honour.
The 1-minute-49-second trailer starts with a bloodied woman, tied and struggling to get free of her binds. As it moves ahead, the trailer depicts several images of female bodies without a head and a question mark at their place, an apparent work of a ruthless serial killer. The duty of apprehending the perpetrator falls to Sai Dhanshika’s character, who plays a tough police officer. Will she be able to solve the mystery? You will get your answers on October 4.
Earlier, at the trailer launch event, Buchi Babu Sana showered praises on the film claiming that it has the potential to set a trend in the genre of psycho-thrillers, all while praising the film’s director, Osho Tulasiram. He also mentioned how terrifying the trailer is, calling it one of the most scary clips in new cinema.
The trailer has sparked a lot of anticipation and excitement among the fans and cinephiles.
On the technical front, the cinematography of the film is handled by RK, editing is by Vinay and the music is given by DSR.
The promotions of the film have already begun in full swing. Recently, Sai Dhanshika dropped a string of stunning images of her outfit for the film’s promotional event.
Sai Dhanshika is known for her role in the Rajinikanth-starrer Kabali, Kaala Koothu, Iruttu and Udgharsha.
