The Hindi film industry is keeping a close watch on the proceedings of actor Salman Khan's 2002 hit-and-run case. The verdict by Bombay High Court is expected to at noon today and filmmakers who are currently working with Khan currently are tensed about what the outcome is going to be.
Salman Khan, with nine 100 crore hits behind him, is waiting for the court’s judgement of 2002 hit-and-run case. With a hit every year, Salman’s films have been making large amount at box office. From his 2009 released ‘Wanted’ to his 2015 released ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan' entering the top 5 list of all time grossers, a lot is riding on the superstar's shoulder. If Salman Khan is found guilty and sent to jail, the likely loss can be spelled around 200 crores.
The ‘Dabangg’ star is currently shooting for ‘Sultan’ under the Yash Raj Films banner which is being directed by Ali Abbaz Zafar. ‘Sultan’ is planned to hit the theaters on Eid of 2016. In this film, Salman is playing the lead role of Sultan Ali Khan, a Haryana based 40-year-old wrestler.
Apart from the films with big banners, he is occupied with the ‘Bigg Boss Double Trouble’ shoots. While his commitments for ‘Bigg Boss’ is expected to end by January 2016, his shooting for ‘Sultan’ is not ending before March 2016.
Another project which Salman has his hands on is his brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri’s next film. The film is reportedly a remake of South cinema star Mahesh Babu’s Teluguhit ‘Dookudo.’ Besides his current list, he is also sort of committed to sequels to his box office hit ‘Kick’.
The buzz also says that Salman might be featuring in the upcoming movies like ‘Dabangg 3’ and ‘Partner 2’ and Mahesh Majrekar’s next.
If the verdict does not end up in the favour of Sallu bhai, not only will his film projects come to a hault but also the huge amount of money riding on his endorsements will go down the drain.
