Salman Khan has teamed up with director AR Murugadoss for an action-packed thriller. The shooting for this much-anticipated film began in June this year, and according to reports, the first schedule was completed by July 1. A recent update on the project reveals that Salman Khan will be taking on dual roles in the movie. Additionally, the production team has reportedly ordered around 10,000 pistols and bullets in preparation for a grand action sequence scheduled for August 22.
Salman Khan’s character in Sikandar is a businessman with a dual life. While he is portrayed as a philanthropist and a man with a heart of gold, his past shows him as a person who lived a more rugged life, as reported by Dainik Bhaskar.
The reports also reveal that the team is preparing for a high-octane action scene, for which they’ve ordered a large quantity of bullets and pistols. According to Mid-Day, this sequence is a key part of a 40-day shooting schedule.
The filmmaker’s goal is to thrill the audience with a film loaded with intense action scenes, while also presenting the lead character as compassionate. During the first schedule, Salman Khan, who also stars in Tiger 3, filmed a fight sequence aboard a private chartered plane with the villain’s son. The antagonist in the film is played by Sathyaraj, known for his role in Baahubali.
Salman Khan has been fully dedicating himself to Sikandar, which is set to be released on Eid in 2025. This commitment has reportedly led him to step away from several other projects over the past couple of months. It’s also likely the reason he has opted out of hosting the OTT version of the reality TV show Bigg Boss 3.
Previously, the actor had also shared a photo from the sets of the Sikandar shoot, which quickly went viral. Fans have been buzzing with excitement and showering praise on the actor as they eagerly await the film’s release. On his Instagram, Salman Khan posted a picture of himself smiling at a computer screen. The caption read, “Looking forward to Eid2025 with team Sikandar.”
Sikandar marks AR Murugadoss’s highly anticipated return to Bollywood after an eight-year break following Akira in 2016. This film also reunites Salman Khan with producer Sajid Nadiadwala. The duo have previously delivered blockbusters like Kick, Judwaa and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.
