Shark Tank India's Namita Thapar Makes SHOCKING Claim, Says Founders 'Ghosted' Her: 'They See Us...'
Namita Thapar says even though the audience questions "sharks" for not accepting a lot of deals, they are unaware it happens because of integrity issues.

Namita Thapar has been a part of Shark Tank India ever since its first season. While the third season of the show is currently underway, in a recent interview, Namita opened up on getting “ghosted” by the founders after their deal gets aired on television. Namita was speaking to the YouTube channel Finance with Sharan when she explained that there is a “lack of integrity” from the pitchers’ side.

“A lot of people are very clueless when it comes to the count of investments because what they don’t realise is when we start doing our due diligence, there are multiple things that… there’s literally a lack of integrity on the part of founders. There are many founders who have ghosted me. There are many founders who, when we do the due diligence, the numbers they quoted at the tank, they are completely off, not just marginally but substantially off,” Namita shared.

The CEO of Emcure Pharmaceuticals further explained that even though the audience questions “sharks” for not accepting a lot of deals, they are unaware it happens because of “integrity issues.”

“So what people don’t realise is, that they see us giving these offers and then they say ‘you did not do the deal’ but what they don’t realise is that there are a lot of integrity issues, which is why the count goes down substantially. I think this is one thing that whoever is following Shark Tank must be aware of, that there is a margin between what’s revealed at the tank vs what really comes out in the due diligence,” she added.

Shark Tank India returned with season three on January 22, 2024. Several familiar sharks from the previous seasons including Namita Thapar, Executive Director at Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited, Aman Gupta, Co-founder of Boat, Peyush Bansal, Co-Founder and CEO of Lenskart, Anupam Mittal, Founder and Director of Shaadi.com and Vineeta Singh, CEO of Sugar Cosmetics, returned for Shark Tank India Season 3. Joining them were also the new additions to the panel, which include Amit Jain, CEO and co-founder of Car Dekho, Ritesh Agarwal, Founder of OYO, Azhar Iqubal, Co-Founder and CEO of Inshorts, and Radhika Gupta, CEO of Edelweiss Capital.
