Shatrughan Sinha condemned the firing outside Salman Khan’s house on Sunday. The actor-politician called the firing ‘dastardly and cowardly act’. Sinha, whose daughter Sonakshi Sinha made her debut with Salman Khan in Dabangg (2010), said that his first thought after the firing was the safety of Salman’s family. He also urged that the safety and security of film personnel should be a priority.
“Salman and his family, including his father, the great writer Salim (Khan) saab, are very close to my heart. When I heard of the incident on Sunday morning, my primary concern was the safety of the family. Salim saab and Salman are among the pride of our film industry. We as one fraternity should come forward to condemn such a dastardly, cowardly act,” he said, speaking with Times Now.
Noting that fans are always praying for Salman and his family’s safety, he added that necessary measures need to be taken to control such attacks. “Iss terah se khule aam aatank phailana (spreading terror openly like this), this is certainly not a healthy sign,” he said.
On Monday night, the Mumbai Police confirmed that the two accused were caught in Gujarat’s Bhuj late on Monday night. “Both the accused, who fled Mumbai after the firing, have been arrested from Gujarat’s Bhuj,” officials told news agency ANI. Two accused involved in Salman Khan’s residence firing case arrested by Mumbai crime branch from Bhuj district of Gujarat. The accused have been identified as Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal. According to sources, cops located both the bike borne accused involved in the firing case to Bhuj district. The accusers have been brought to Mumbai for questioning.
Arbaaz Khan broke his silence over the firing incident outside Salman’s house. “The recent incident of firing by two unidentified person on a motorcycle at Galaxy apartment the residence of the Salim Khan family is very disturbing and unnerving. Our family has been taken aback by this shocking incident that took place,” Arbaaz wrote.
“Unfortunately some people claiming to be close to our family and pretending to be the spokesperson have been making loose statements to the media saying it’s all a publicity stunt and the family remains unaffected which is not true and these views should not be taken seriously. No member of the Salim Khan family has made any statement regarding this incident to the media. At this time the family is helping and cooperating with the people in the investigation of this untoward incident. We have faith in the Mumbai police and we have been assured that they will do everything in their capacity to protect and secure our family. Thank you everyone for your love and support,” he added.
