Sonakshi Sinha Pens STRONG Note Amid Backlash For Marrying Zaheer Iqbal: 'If This Is Not Divine Intervention…'
Sonakshi Sinha married Zaheer Iqbal on June 23, 2024. The couple hosted an intimate ceremony at the former’s Bandra residence.

Sonakshi Sinha has penned down a strong note amid backlash for her interfaith marriage with Zaheer Iqbal. On Tuesday, the actress took to her Instagram handle to share her latest wedding pictures. In the photos, the newlywed couple was seen getting cosy with each other. In one of the clicks, Sonakshi was seen planting a kiss on Zaheer’s forehead. Another photo featured the couple holding each other close.

However, it was the caption of Sonakshi’s post that caught everyone’s attention. She penned down a strong note and called her love with Zaheer nothing less than a “divine intervention”. “Whattttt a day!!!! The love, the laughter, the togetherness, the excitement, the warmth, the support from every one of our friends, families and teams… it was like the universe came together for two people in love to give them exactly what they’ve always hoped, wished and prayed for ❤️ If this is not divine intervention… we dont know what is ✨ We are both truly blessed to have each other and so much love protecting us ,” she wrote. Sonakshi Sinha married Zaheer Iqbal on June 23, 2024. The couple hosted an intimate ceremony at the former’s Bandra residence. However, following their wedding, a protest march was organised in Sonakshi’s father, Shatrughan Sinha’s hometown Patna in Bihar. Organised by Hindu Shiv Bhawani Sena, the fringe organisation called the interfaith marriage ‘love jihad’ and asked Sonakshi not to visit the state capital ever.

Earlier today, the actor-turned-politician also reacted to the protest and urged everyone to stop spreading hate. He asked trolls to ‘get a life’ and strongly stated that his daughter hasn’t done anything illegal. “Anand Bakshi saab has written about such professional protestors, ‘Kucch to log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna. To this I would like to add, ‘Kehne waale agar bekar, bekaam-kaaj ke ho to kehna hi kaam ban jata hai (For unemployed people, this is all the work they have).’ My daughter has done nothing illegal or unconstitutional,” Shatrughan told Times Now.

“A wedding is a very personal decision between two people; no one has the right to interfere or comment. To all the protestors I say – go, get a life. Do something useful with your life. Aur kucch nahi kehna (I have nothing else to say),” the veteran actor added.
