Sony Acquires Audio Rights Of Viduthalai Part 2 For Rs 4 Crore: Report
Soori said that he is expecting the second part sometime in August or September.

Actor Soori, awaiting the release of his film Garudan, recently opened up about the second part of the upcoming film Viduthalai. Directed by Vetrimaaran, the duology sees Soori playing the lead role of a young cop. Soori said that Viduthalai Part 2 will be bigger and more substantial as compared to the first film.

As per reports, the audio rights of the film have been disclosed. It has been announced that Sony has secured the audio rights for the film for a sum of Rs 4 crore.

Viduthalai marks Soori’s debut as a leading actor. In a recent interview on the sidelines of Garudan promotions, Soori said that he is expecting the second part sometime in August or September and added that the film’s shooting is ongoing. “The film has become bigger and there are many artists in the film including Manju Warrier mam, Samuthirakani and Kishore. As far as I know, Viduthalai Part 2 will be three times bigger and grander than Viduthalai,” he added.

In Viduthalai, Soori plays the role of Kumaresan, a newly recruited cop who is tasked with arresting a revolutionary leader played by Vijay Sethupathi. While she had limited screen space in the first part, the sequel is expected to feature more portions with Vijay Sethupathi. Besides them, the film also stars Bhavani Sre, Gautham Menon, Rajiv Menon, Chetan and others.

Viduthalai is directed by filmmaker Vetrimaaran, with the second part not yet having a release date. The first part is currently available for streaming on ZEE 5. Besides, Viduthalai Part 1 received a positive critical response upon its release. Both parts were screened at the Rotterdam International Film Festival earlier this year and received a standing ovation.

Meanwhile, Soori’s Garudan will hit the theatres on May 31. The film, which also stars Sasikumar and Unni Mukundan is directed by RS Durai Senthilkumar, who has directed films like Ethir Neechal and Kodi and was one of the writers of Viduthalai.
