Student of The Year 2: Chunky Panday's Daughter Ananya To Make Bollywood Debut With Karan Johar's Film?

Much has been speculated about Karan Johar's upcoming production Student of The Year 2 and while the filmmaker-producer revealed Tiger Shroff as the male protagonist, nothing was known about the female protagonist up until now.

But a report in Deccan Chronicle suggests that the filmmakers might have shortlisted Chunky Panday's daughter Ananya Panday for the part. A source was quoted as saying, “Karan, Tiger Shroff and director Punit Malhotra were present at the audition where Ananya was asked to read out Alia’s lines from Student Of The Year. And Ananya sailed through like a professional. Karan immediately decided to cast her."

Interestingly Saif Ali Khan-Amrita Singh's daughter Sara Ali Khan and Sridevi-Boney Kapoor's daughter Jahnvi Kapoor were also considered for the part. But with Sara choosing Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput and Jahnvi opting for Dhadak alongside Ishaan Khatter, things fell into place for Ananya. “Saif and Amrita’s daughter Sara and Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Jhanvi were also considered for Student Of The Year. But the idea was dropped. Chunky Pandey’s daughter Ananya has now been chosen,” revealed the source.

Meanwhile, KJo took to Twitter on Thursday to quash the rumours of Ishaan Khatter's presence in the film. He wrote, "CLARIFICATION: Ishaan is the lead of #Dhadak directed by @ShashankKhaitan and Tiger Shroff is the Lead of #StudentOfTheYear2 directed by @punitdmalhotra ...all other cross stories floating around are baseless and untrue."
