Suniel Shetty Is A Proud Father As Son Ahan Shetty Joins Border 2: ‘This One’s Extra Special’
‘So proud to see you step into the world of Border,’ wrote Suniel Shetty, congratulating his son Ahan Shetty for Border 2.

Life has come full circle for Suniel Shetty as his son Ahan Shetty has joined the cast of Border 2. FYI, Suniel had played one of the leads in the film in its prequel, which was released in 1997. Delighted and proud, he has now shared a touching note on X (formerly Twitter), expressing his excitement as his son carries forward his legacy in the sequel. It was accompanied by a short clip, officially announcing Ahan’s induction into the film’s cast.

“So proud to see you step into the world of Border. The journey I started years ago has now come full circle. I know you will give it your everything. This one’s extra special for obvious reasons—it’s all heart. Ahan Shetty,” wrote Suniel Shetty.

Ahan Shetty, too, can’t keep calm. Sharing the same video on Instagram, he expressed his emotions in a heartwarming note. Ahan penned, “Border is more than a film—it’s a legacy, an emotion, and a dream come true. Ironic how life works—my journey with Border started 29 years ago, when mom visited dad on set while pregnant with me,” adding, “I never realized how much those moments would shape my love for cinema and the Indian Armed Forces. Now, being part of Border 2 is an absolute honour.”

Concluding his note, Ahan assured his father Suniel to honour the legacy he created throughout these years. He noted, “Papa—everything I am is because of you, and I’ll do my best to honor the legacy you’ve worked so hard to create.”

Before Ahan Shetty joined the cast, Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh were already confirmed for Border 2, which is headlined by Sunny Deol. This highly anticipated sequel, directed by Anurag Singh, is set to begin production in November. Anurag is known for his work on Akshay Kumar’s Kesari.

Border 2 aims to honour the legacy of JP Dutta’s iconic 1997 blockbuster, which was based on the 1971 Longewala battle. The film is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026, perfectly timed to coincide with India’s Republic Day celebrations.
