Sushant Singh Rajput Found Dead at Mumbai Home, Bollywood in Complete Shock
Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput has been found dead at his Bandra residence in Mumbai. He was 34 and was last seen in Netflix film Drive.

Sushant Singh Rajput, Bollywood actor who starred in films like Chhichhore, PK and the biopic on MS Dhoni, was found dead at his Bandra residence in Mumbai with police suspecting suicide. The 34-year-old actor was reportedly found hanging by a domestic help who raised alarm. Bandra Police brought the actor’s body to Dr RN Cooper Municipal General Hospital from his residence. After testing the actor for COVID-19, he has been taken for post mortem. So far, no suicide note is found.

Soon after the news of the actor’s demise started circulating, a huge crowd gathered at his Patna residence. They said the condition of the actor’s father Krishna Kumar Singh has deteriorated and he is not in a position to speak. Lakshmi Devi, the caretaker of Sushant Singh’s Patna residence, said the news of his death came through telephone. She told media persons that Rajput’s eldest sister, who lives in Chandigarh, has conveyed over telephone that she would be arriving by flight later in the day and accompany the father to Mumbai.

The actor, who became popular with his starring role in the television show ‘Pavitra Rishta’ made his foray into films with ‘Kai Po Che!’ in 2013. Among popular Sushant Singh Rajput movies are ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’, ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’, ‘Raabta’, ‘Kedarnath’ and ‘Sonchiriya’. Rajput’s last big screen release was Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Chhichhore’.

Among his unreleased films is Dil Bechara, an official remake of the Hollywood film The Fault in Their Stars. Directed by Mukesh Chhabra, the movie was rumoured to be released directly through a streamer over the next few months.

Rajput’s death has once again put the spotlight on the importance of mental health care with celebrities including Anil Kapoor, Karan Johar, Anushka Sharma, Richa Chadha, emphasising upon supporting those facing troubled times. Soon after the news of the actor’s demise started circulating, many from the film fraternity urged people to be more sensitive, empathetic and available to their close ones who might be silently suffering.
