Sampath Kumar, popularly known as Vishnuvardhan, was one of the prominent names in the Kannada film industry. The late actor acted in about 200 feature films and also a hit television series Malgudi Days directed by Shankar Nag. Vishnuvardhan enacted a prominent role titled Venkat Rao in one of the episodes titled Rupees Forty-five a Month. Actress Gayathri Nag acted opposite him in this episode. Malgudi Days is currently streaming on Amazon Prime. Anant Nag, Rajaram, Girish Karnad, Mandeep Roy and others also acted in this series. Another interesting fact related to the late actor is that he used to wear a unique bracelet. As per the reports, Vishnuvardhan had worn a bracelet in his hand in every project. The 1981 film Guru Shishyaru was the only film in which he did not wear his favourite bracelet. For the Malgudi Days actor, this bracelet was an inseparable part of himself. The late actor used to wear the bracelet as a style. There is an interesting fact related to his bracelet. According to the reports, Vishnuvardhan once went to Bidar, Karnataka. There, he visited one of the gurdwaras and one of the gurus gave him this bracelet. Vishnuvardhan, who came with that accessory, initially kept it in the house temple but did not worship it like everyone else.
Later, the Malgudi Days actor decided to wear that bracelet on his right hand. Vishnuvardhan believed that he had received the bracelet in the form of God’s blessing. After this, he started wearing this bracelet in every film. In 1980, Vishnuvardhan wore a bangle for the first time in the movie Simha Jodi. After Vishnuvardhan’s demise, his daughter Kirti kept this bracelet with her.
