Pawan Kalyan is one of the prominent stars in Telugu cinema and is known for his acting prowess in many films like Kushi and Attarintiki Daredi. His film Kushi, released on April 27, 2001, remains one of the most loved Tollywood films till date. As per the reports, this film had garnered over Rs 1.56 crore at the Sandhya 35 MM theatres. This theatre is located at RTC X Rd, opposite Bawarchi Restaurant, Zamistanpur, Himayatnagar, Hyderabad, Telangana 500020. This film went on to collect a total of Rs 36.9 crore upon its release at the box office. Directed by SJ Suryah, this film starred Pawan Kalyan, Bhoomika Chawla, Sivaji and Rajan P Dev in important roles. Kushi was re-released on December 31, 2022, in 4K and became the highest-grossing Telugu re-release of all time surpassing another Pawan Kalyan film Jalsa.
Pawan Kalyan, formally known as Konidela Kalyan Babu, made his acting debut in 1996 with Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi. This film was an official remake of Aamir Khan’s Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi gave a glimpse of Pawan’s acting prowess. It was his film with director A Karunakaran, Tholi Prema (1999) that propelled him to fame in the film industry. This film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu and six Nandi Awards that year.
Power Star, as he is popularly known, Pawan Kalyan is the brother of Telugu stars Chiranjeevi and Nagendra Babu. The Power Star is known for his skills in martial arts and starred in several films, including Gokulamlo Seeta (1997), Suswagatham (1998), Thammudu (1999) and Balu (2005). He also acted in Jalsa (2008), Gabbar Singh (2012), Attarintiki Daredi (2013), Gopala Gopala (2015), and Vakeel Saab (2021). He starred in Bro last year.
Pawan Kalyan was to act in a film titled OG directed by Sujeeth. On July 3, he held a public meeting in his constituency, Pithapuram, when people started to chant the title of OG. Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister then clarified that he wants to focus on his constituency for now before resuming film shoots.
