Shraddha Kapoor put up a stellar performance in the 2018 Amar Kaushik directorial Stree. The horror-comedy generated a positive response from movie-goers emerging to be a sleeper hit. Acknowledging the popularity surrounding the film, the makers decided to come up with its sequel, Stree 2. The filming of the same which is currently underway will witness Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurrana reprise their roles. However, chances are that there is a new cast addition. According to reports, Varun Dhawan has been roped in for Stree 2 in a special cameo appearance. The actor has even started shooting for the film.
Varun Dhawan previously worked with Amar Kaushik in Bhediya. The 2022 film was a part of the horror comedy universe, created by the series’ producer Dinesh Vijan. According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Varun Dhawan will have a crossover in Stree 2 where the actor will essay the role of Bhediya. He recently shot for his guest appearance at a studio in Mumbai. As per a source, “Bhediya is a character close to Varun Dhawan’s heart and his appearance as Bhediya in Stree 2 will set things up for Bhediya 2.”
Sources further claimed that Varun Dhawan allotted two days to Dinesh Vijan and completed the shoot within the stipulated time. His cameo appearance opposite Shraddha Kapoor is expected to be “hilarious yet impactful.” Varun and Amar Kaushik “had a blast” with each other on Stree 2’s sets, reported Bollywood Hungama. The duo even engaged in discussing the framework of their upcoming project Bhediya 2. “Bhediya 2 goes on floors in 2025 and will take off from where Stree 2 ended,” the report added.
