Days after Munawar Faruqui emerged as the Bigg Boss 17 winner, Vicky Jain said that there were more ‘deserving’ candidates in the finale than the stand-up comedian. Vicky was recently speaking to Siddharth Kannan when he talked about Munawar’s fan following and reminded all that Bigg Boss is a show of not one’s talent but personality.
“I always told him (Munawar) that I am a fan of his art form. But that show is a show about personality. If you look from the viewpoint of his art form and his popularity, then the results are not shocking, since he has a very vocal fanbase and he always knew that, maybe this is why he played the way he did. He had a choice to take his own time on the show. But if we talk about ‘deserving’ then we could have looked at others. But because it is based on voting, Munawar has a strong fan following,” Vicky said.
Vicky further argued that Munawar’s victory would have a “bad effect” considering his controversial romantic relationships and allegations regarding the same. “It definitely has a bad effect because we feel whatever the heroes do is right and inspiring. I opposed this in the game as well. I told him also that you are a talented man but your actions show what kind of a human being you are,” he added.
It should be noted that Vicky Jain’s actress-wife, Ankita Lokhande was also a finalist on Bigg Boss 17. While Munawar took the trophy home, Abhishek Kumar was the first runner-up followed by Mannara Chopra.
Previously, Munawar also reacted to the allegation that his Bigg Boss 17 win was ‘fixed’. “Yaar fixed winner ko itna sab go through karna pade toh it can’t be a fixed winner. If I would have been a fixed winner I would have got everything on a platter. I’ve got nothing on a platter, I’ve worked hard and a lot. My answer to people who are calling me a fixed winner is just sit and watch the entire season and you will realise that it wasn’t fixed,” he told E-Times.
