'We Celebrate Raksha Bandhan Very Traditionally': Actress Himani Shivpuri
Himani Shivpuri, who plays Katori Amma in the sitcom Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, said that she celebrates Raksha Bandhan in a very traditional way.

Actress Himani Shivpuri has spoken about their close bond with her brother and revealed the special celebrations she planned for this year’s Raksha Bandhan.

Himani, who plays Katori Amma in the sitcom Happu Ki Ultan Paltan said, “We celebrate Raksha Bandhan in a very traditional way. It is always a big festival in my hometown Dehradun. We have the celebrations at our old house with my extended family. It is almost a tradition in our house that we get together, tie Rakhi to our brothers and then eat our favourite dishes. And that is not going to change this year either.”

“Due to my busy shooting schedule, I may not attend the festival with my family this year. However, I will send my rakhi to my brother and be present on the video call. But that doesn’t mean that my Raksha Bandhan is over. As soon as I get my next long break, I will head home and spend quality time with my family and of course my beloved brother. Gift bhi to lena hai (laughs),” said Himani, who is known for her work in the film Hum Aapke Hain Koun.

She added, “But to be honest, my brother is very special to me. He is not just my brother but also a father when I need to seek advice and a friend when I need to share a secret and have an opinion. I am grateful to have a brother like him in my life. I wish my brother Himanshu and all my other brothers a Happy Raksha Bandhan.”

Himani Shivpuri made her film debut in 1984 with Ab Ayega Mazaa, followed by In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones, a telefilm (1989), which also starred Shah Rukh Khan.
