Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna, one of Bollywood’s favourite couples, got married in 2001 and have two kids, Aarav and Nitara. They often playfully tease each other on social media. Recently, an old video of Twinkle’s father, Rajesh Khanna, went viral online.
In the clip, he jokes about Akshay, saying, “Iss umar me toh humara jo jamai raja hai voh bahot gaata hai. Kabhi vo Bhool Bhulaiyaa karta hai kabhi Hera Pheri karta hai, Hera Pheri 2 karta jai. Bohot hera pheri karta hai. Hera pheri wala he aadmi hai woh (At this age, our son-in-law, he sings a lot. Sometimes he acts like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, sometimes he acts like Hera Pheri, Hera Pheri 2. He does a lot of antics. He’s quite the Hera Pheri guy).”
The old video shows the legendary actor sharing his thoughts on Akshay Kumar and Twinkle’s relationship in a witty way. He jokingly advised Twinkle to keep an eye on Akshay but not to be too controlling. He said, “Maine apni beti ko bhi bola hai. Maine kaha hai, ‘Dekho Tina baba, mai Tina bola hu kyuki Twinkle uska naam hai, Tina baba zara iski lagaam kheech ke rakhna lekin itni bhi nahi kheechna ki toot jaye (I’ve told my daughter too. I said, ‘Look Tina baba, I call her Tina because Twinkle is her name. Tina baba, keep a check on him (Akshay), but don’t pull the reins too tight that they break).”
Earlier this year, Twinkle Khanna graduated with a Masters in Fiction Writing at the Goldsmiths, University of London. Post her graduation, Akshay turned out to be her biggest cheerleader. He shared a happy photo of himself with Twinkle on social media and also penned a heartwarming note on her big achievement.
Akshay praised Twinkle and wrote, “Two years ago, when you told me you wanted to take up studies all over again, I wondered if you meant it. But the day I saw you work so hard and perfectly manage a full-fledged student life along with home, career, me, and kids, I knew I had married a superwoman.”
