Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Zero has witnessed a decline in its box office collections on day 2, while Yash's KGF has picked up pace.

Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Zero has witnessed a decline in its box office collections on day 2 as it only managed to earn Rs 18.22 crore on Saturday. Zero, which opened to mixed reviews, revolves around Bauua Singh, a vertically challenged man who falls in love with two women, Aafia (Anushka Sharma), a scientist who suffers from cerebral palsy, and Babita Kumari (Katrina Kaif), a Bollywood superstar. The film's current total stands at Rs 38.36 crore.

Tweeting the latest box office figures, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote: "#Zero slips on Day 2... Biz should’ve witnessed solid growth on Day 2 after an underwhelming Day 1, but is struggling at the BO... Decline on Day 2 (vis-à-vis Day 1): 9.53%... Fri 20.14 cr, Sat 18.22 cr. Total: ₹ 38.36 cr. India biz." (sic)

The film is getting tough competition from Sandalwood star Yash's latest film KGF: Chapter 1 (Kolar Gold Fields), which had the widest ever release for a Kannada film. On its first day, the film collected about Rs 25 crore from the worldwide box office, according to trade analyst Ramesh Bala.

On the other hand, Adarsh gave glimpse into the box office collections of KGF's Hindi version, tweeting "#KGF witnesses an upward trend on Day 2 [Sat]... Biz should grow further on Day 3 [Sun]... Growth on Day 2 [vis-à-vis Day 1]: 42.86%... Fri 2.10 cr, Sat 3 cr. Total: ₹ 5.10 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version." (sic)

KGF, which promises to be a unique experience as far as Kannada cinema is concerned, released in about 2400 screens. The film features Yash as Rocky, who learns his life-lessons the hard way on the streets of Mumbai where he begins his career as a shoeshine. Slowly and steadily, he rises in the world of crime. His life takes a turn when reaches Kolar where he is up against the local mobsters. Directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF is a period drama that traces the history of gold mining and the mafia running it in the generous fields of Karnataka’s Kolar region.
