Disha Patani and Tiger Shroff are set to share the screen once again. Filmmaker Jagan Shakti confirmed to ETimes that the duo will be starring in his upcoming film, Hero No 1. Initially, Sara Ali Khan was cast for the role.
Reacting to reports about Disha replacing Sara, Jagan of Mission Mangal-fame said, “Disha is the fittest and apt to do action. Sara was definitely a part of it, but unfortunately, we couldn’t match the date.”
Hero No 1 will reportedly feature two heroines. Hrithik Roshan’s cousin, Pashmina Roshan, will play Tiger’s love interest in the film. The project is an original film, not a remake or sequel of the 1997 Govinda-starrer directed by David Dhawan. The film is being produced by Jackky Bhagnani’s production house.
Talking about the film, a source had previously told Hindustan Times, “Though the shoot will begin in London in January 2024, Tiger has already shot for an action sequence, and Sara and Pashmina will join him only next year. Tiger had signed a three-film deal with Bhagnani’s production, and after Ganapath and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Hero No 1 is their third collaboration.”
In 2022, rumour mills were abuzz about the breakup between actors Disha Patani and Tiger Shroff, who were dating for quite some time. While both actors remained silent about the speculations, reports suggested that Tiger had moved on with Akanksha Sharma, with whom he has collaborated on two music videos.
Disha will be next seen opposite Suriya in Kanguva, directed by Siruthai Siva. The film is rumoured to be a big-budget period warrior epic, with Disha in a power-packed role as the female lead. She will also be seen in Project K with Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Prabhas. Tiger on the other hand has Bade Miyan Chote Miyan with Akshay Kumar.
