DYK Ranbir Kapoor Shaved His Head And Quit Smoking For Animal?

After two hit films, Ranbir Kapoor is now gearing up for Sandeep Vanga Reddy’s action film Animal. The action crime film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Tripti Dimri. The film’s makers have been building anticipation among fans with the release of posters, a teaser, and a song. The movie delves into the narrative of a man with a tumultuous relationship with his father.

To fully immerse himself in the character, Ranbir underwent a significant physical transformation. In a video uploaded on X (formerly Twitter), the actor spoke about the kind of things he has changed in his lifestyle to fit in the role. “For Animal, I had shaved my hair! For the last scene, I had done that. So now I am growing my hair. Since I am not working on any film, I am eating a lot, and not following any diet. I have changed my entire lifestyle. I have quit smoking, so I am eating a lot of chocolates,” he said.

Meanwhile, according to a report in ETimes, Ranbir Kapoor described Animal as his “darkest project to date.” He went on to explain that the film’s darkness doesn’t stem from him playing a psycho killer, but rather from the profound complexity of the character’s mind and his unconventional methods of operation.

Furthermore, he added, “It is not somebody who I am or can relate to. It was very interesting for me to play him on screen because it was a very new, original character. I am glad I collaborated with Sandeep on this because I got a lot from him, about heroism, about characters, and about a grey part like this.”

The film, set against the backdrop of the underworld, is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 1. Just a day ago, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal had its teaser featured in the iconic Times Square in New York.

The teaser, which runs for over two minutes, kicks off with a conversation between Rashmika Mandanna and Ranbir Kapoor, the film’s main characters, discussing whether they want to have children. Following this, the teaser provides a glimpse of Anil Kapoor’s portrayal of Ranbir’s aggressive father. Ranbir refers to him as the ‘best father.’ He then assures Rashmika that she can ask him anything, and he’ll respond truthfully, but she must never discuss his father. Next, we see bloodshed, car chases, and action.
