Fans Go Into A Frenzy After SEVENTEEN'S Mingyu Shares Pic Of His New Haircut
Korean boy band SEVENTEEN's singer Mingyu, known for his long hair, has shared photos of a new, shorter haircut. This unexpected change has caught many fans by surprise.

For a very long time now, the beloved singer, musician, rapper, and the face of boy band SEVENTEEN, Kim Min-gyu aka Mingyu has sported a lengthy hairstyle that has garnered significant adoration from his fanbase. It has been quite some time since he last sported a relatively short haircut. The 26-year-old singer was popular for creating and flaunting several different hairstyles and looks on various occasions, with the help of his long locks. However, there has been a surprising shift in Mingyu’s hairstyle preferences. Just a day ago, Mingyu shared an update on his Instagram account, unveiling his new, considerably shorter haircut.

This unexpected change has caught many fans by surprise, as they are not accustomed to seeing him with such a hairstyle. Mingyu wrote the caption for his post in Korean, which can be roughly translated in English as “I cut my hair.”

This change also reminds his fans of the year 2016, when Mingyu had short hair during SEVENTEEN’s BOOMBOOM era, although he sported a blond hair colour at that time.

The singer’s fans have been actively expressing their reactions in the comments section of the post. One user wrote, “It looks good but a moment of silence for the strand that would always hang in front of your face.” Another one complimented the singer saying, “you look amazing.” Agreeing with this opinion, a user has commented “You still fine as hell tho.”

However, this exciting hair transformation is not the only thing the boy band’s fans can look forward to this season. The group is gearing up for their upcoming album, titled SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN, scheduled for release next month.

News of the comeback was announced via a brief 30-second video featuring a red festival wristband. The wristband prominently displays the names of the group members, namely – S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino – along with the album title and its October 23 release date.

This new mini album follows their 10th mini album, FML, which achieved SEVENTEEN’s highest chart placement on the Billboard 200 to date, peaking at No. 2 and remaining on the chart for a total of nine weeks. The album’s lead single, Super, reached No. 18 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, maintaining a presence on the chart for 17 weeks.
