Marathi film Baipan Bhari Deva, directed by Kedar Shinde, has emerged as one of the groundbreaking Marathi films. It earned accolades from the audience and critics due to its plot and acting performances. This film has also performed brilliantly at the box office and earned more than Rs 90 crore globally. As per the reports, this collection emerged after the film’s run at the theatres for 50 days. The budget of Baipan Bhari Deva is only Rs 5 crore and its massive collection makes it one of the highest-grossing Marathi films. The cast of this film includes Suchitra Bandekar, Tushar Dalvi, Varad Chavan and others. Emveebee Media, Jio Studios, and Screenshots have produced this film.

Kedar is currently basking in the success of this film. He talked about it in an exclusive chat with Free Press Journal. He said,” It’s nothing new for me. I have a legacy of my maternal grandfather Shahir Sable. So success is all okay for me. I have to work harder. I have given milestone plays of Marathi on the stage.” Kedar’s movie Maharashtra Sahir was removed from theatres when The Kerala Story was released in the first week only. When asked if he has any regrets, he shares, “I was a little hurt. Karma is there. In just two months time, my film Baipan Bhaari Deva is successful and Hindi film ko paar karke woh aage nikal gayi. Abhi Marathi film ke shows Hindi films ke shows se jyada hai. I am happy.”

Baipan Bhari Deva has reportedly broken the records of another Marathi film Ved, starring Riteish Deshmukh, in terms of its earnings. Ved marked the directorial debut of Riteish. Genelia Deshmukh has produced this film apart from acting in it. The film also stars Ashok Saraf and Jiya Shankar in supporting roles. Ved’s gross collection was Rs 75 crore and was declared the highest-grossing Marathi film of 2022. Ved is currently the third-highest-grossing Marathi movie of all time. With their Rs 90 crore box-office collection, Baipan Bhaari Deva sits in the second spot. The viewers are looking forward to seeing if it will cross Sairat’s Rs 110 crore gross collection.

Nagraj Manjule had directed Sairat which was later remade in Bollywood titled Dhadak.
