MSBSHSE Maharashtra HSC Result Based on Three-Year Score by July 31, 100% to Pass
MSBSHSE Maharashtra HSC Results 2021: All students declared pass, detailed marks by July 31 based on class 10, 11 marks, and 12th internals. Maha SSC result by July 15

The Maharashtra Board has revealed the evaluation criteria for the HSC or class 12 students. Like CBSE, the Maharashtra State Board Of Secondary And Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) too will calculate results based on three-year performance. For over 14 lakh students who registered for Maharashtra HSC, the scores will be calculated on the basis of the best of three marks of class 10, class 11 final score, and class 12 internal assessment.

Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad called it an “ad-hoc arrangement”. She said, “It is no doubt an ad-hoc arrangement but one that attempts to capture the spirit of continuous assessments using credible data points. It also offers some semblance of ‘normal times’, with  computation of Std.10th, 11th marks based on assessments held during pre-Covid times”

Schools have been asked to start with the evaluation process already. As a relaxation, the MSBHSHSE has decided to pass all students.  Any student who would be getting marks less than the minimum score will be given grace marks and promoted to the next class. Still, if a student is not satisfied with their score, they will have a chance to appear for board exams.

Over 14 lakh students who registered for Maharashtra HSC exams are now passed and can seek admission in colleges based on their merit. Their detailed scores are expected by July 31. The SC had asked all state governments including Mahrashtra to announce results by July 31.

Since the Maharashtra Board exams have been cancelled, for the class 12 segment of the results, schools can consider scores in one or more exams held at the school level including unit tests, first semester exams, practice exams. The class 12 marks will carry 40 per cent weightage whereas marks in the final exam of class 11 and the average of the best three performing theory papers of class 10 will have 30 per cent weightage each.

This is similar to the central board CBSE and CISCE’s decision. Like CBSE, Maharashtra Board too has asked schools to constitute a Result Committee headed by the college principal and comprising six teachers. This committee will be responsible for finalisation of results and safe keeping of records.

Gaikwad said, “Maharashtra has been pushing for a uniform assessment formula across India for Std 12th. Opting for an evaluation method similar to the one devised by central education boards will certainly help.” She adds, “The task is challenging but I am confident that our colleges, teachers will live up to the task”

This formula will be applicable for students who registered to appear for exams in regular mode. A separate assessment plan has been finalized for private and repeater candidates and those appearing for isolated subjects. Further, for improvement scheme candidates, the cancelled board exam of 2021 would not be counted as a missed opportunity, and they can still avail of their eligible number of attempts.

“It has been a school year like no other. The 2020-21 batch has had to adjust a lot. But it has managed to weather the storm with help of our able teachers. As we welcome the new academic year, wishing everyone all the best for a happy, healthy & bright future ahead. Stay safe,” she Gaikwad.

The admission process for non-professional courses will start after Class 12 results are declared in Maharashtra, state Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant had clarified earlier. Gaikwad too has asked Colleges to comply with the timelines and align college admissions, accordingly.
