Strong Girl Nam-soon, the sequel to the K-drama show Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, will be released on October 7 on Netflix.

The trailer of the much-anticipated South Korean television series Strong Girl Nam-soon was released today, September 19. The sequel to the popular K-drama show Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, starring Park Bo-young and Park Hyung-Sik has already created a stir among K-drama lovers. The first season generated a mass appeal among fans because of the powerful chemistry between the lead protagonists. Now, the wait is for the sequel which is slated to premiere on Netflix on October 7. The trailer of Strong Girl Nam-soon, starring Lee Yoo-mi in a titular role, promises a nail-biting adventure embedded with a touch of superpowers.

The trailer was dropped on Instagram too by Netflix K-content. “There’s a new strong girl in town with superhuman strength, and she’s about to kick butt. Sequel to STRONG GIRL BONG-SOON, the comedic crime series STRONG GIRL NAM-SOON is coming October 7, only on Netflix,” read the caption.

The trailer opens with a mysterious Byeon Woo-Seok saying, “This is just the beginning. Please join me. It will grant you otherworldly joy”. He then consumes a glass of alcohol watching the other formally-dressed members enjoying their drinks and having a good laugh. That’s the moment that might give viewers an inkling that something is not quite right. And as is evident, when the trailer progresses, we get to see a grim scenario. The premise for the show is established with the words, “Korea is no longer a drug-free country” with dead bodies lying on the floor.

Strong Girl Nam-soon revolves around three women blessed with superpowers as they embark on a mission to dig out the truth about the rising drug crimes in the city of Gangnam in Seoul. Kang Nam-Soon played by Lee Yoo-mi possesses special abilities and visits Gangnam in search of her long-lost biological mother — Hwang Geum-Joo played by Kim Jung-Eun, who also has superhuman strength. Kang Nam-Soon’s grandmother Gil Joong-Gan aka Kim Hae-Sook will also join forces with her daughter and granddaughter to stop the unlawful drug-related activities.

The trailer promises that the three women of three generations will stop at no cost to stop drug lord Ryu Shi-oh (Byeon Woo-Seok) from executing his evil plans. There is plenty of action, sprinkled with comedic elements, that is likely to keep the audience hooked.

Directed by Kim Jung Shik, Strong Girl Nam-soon will also be released on JTBC in South Korea. One episode will premiere every Saturday and Sunday. The final episode will go on air on November 26.
