The Archies: Suhana Khan Reveals 'Shaking' Before The Skating Scene In 'Sunoh', Calls It 'Frustrating'
Suhana Khan got candid about rollerskating in The Archies song Sunoh.

One of the most awaited films of the year, Netflix’s ‘The Archies’ has released its first song ‘Sunoh,’ featuring Dot (Aditi), Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Mihir Ahuja, Suhana Khan, Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda. ‘The Archies’ is a coming-of-age musical following the lives of the town’s favourite set of teenagers by filmmaker Zoya Akhtar. The music video that was released last week has already struck a chord with fans. Among all the actors, it captured Suhana Khan skating flawlessly to the tune and rhythm of the song. Now the makers have released the BTS video, in which Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, Javed Akhtar and others quipped about the catchy song.

Going candid about the skating sequences in the song, Suhana Khan described how she was shaking before the song, “I was actually shaking before I did that and I’d been skating for so long. It was so frustrating. But our skating instructor, she was just like let’s just try to use everything we have learned and let’s not waste anything,” she stated.

Agastya Nanda whose character Archie strums the lead guitar in the aesthetic music video recalled, “First day of shoot was like really built up in my head. Like this is it. I learnt how to play the guitar, the piano and I tried to sing but they didn’t take my voice.”

Music composer Ankur Tewari added, “Agastya sings off key.”

Explaining how he approached Javed Akhtar with just the word ‘Sunoh’ since he wanted the film to commence with it, Ankur shared, “We always knew we had to start the film with a song which is strong and it has to be a call out. The only word that was coming to me was Sunoh. And then we took the song to Javed sahab.”

Javed Akhtar also added, “I realised whatever vocabulary I have, I will have to forget almost 85% of it. I should be able to say what the character wants to say, but I should be able to say it in the language of the character, not in my language.”

Zoya Akhtar said the main idea behind the song ‘Sunoh’ was to paint the premise of the film, “More than the comic book, I think we went with storybook. Everybody was there,” she stated.

According to the makers, the 1960s-set film explores friendship, freedom, love, heartbreak and rebellion through the lives of Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel and Dilton. It will take audiences to the fictional hilly town of Riverdale.
