The registration window for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2024 conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) is closing tomorrow, November 3. Candidates who intend to take the CLAT 2024 exam must be sure to complete their registration promptly. To apply for CLAT 2024, visit the official website of the Consortium of NLUs, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

The CLAT 2024 examination is scheduled to take place on December 3, from 2 PM to 4 PM. Aspirants are advised to gear up for this exam by familiarising themselves with the exam pattern and attempting the provided sample question papers.

To help in candidates’ preparation, the Consortium of NLUs has released four sets of sample question papers. These papers cover both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, ensuring that they have a comprehensive understanding of the revised exam pattern.

CLAT 2024: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates aiming for undergraduate CLAT 2024 admission must ensure to have scored at least 45 per cent in their Class 12 examination. However, candidates from the SC and ST categories have a lower threshold of 40 per cent .

For pursuing postgraduate CLAT admission, one should have an LLB degree with a minimum of 50 per cent marks. Applicants from SC and ST categories enjoy a 5 per cent relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks.

CLAT 2024: How to Apply

To register for CLAT 2024, here is a step-by-step process:

Step 1: Visit the official website at consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

Step 2: Locate and click on the registration link.

Step 3: You will be redirected to the CLAT 2024 registration window.

Step 4: Click on the ‘Register’ button

Step 5: A CLAT registration form will open where you will have to enter registration details like name, mobile number, and email ID.

Step 6: Select and confirm a password for the candidate account.

Step 7: Now log in to access the application form.

Step 8: After logging in, the first thing is to select the program of study 5-year LLB or one-year LLB.

Step 9: There will be different fields like personal information, communication details, qualifying examination status, exam centre preferences (THREE centres can be selected in the order of preference), and reservation. All fields need to be filled.

Step 10: Once the details are duly filled, recheck everything, agree to the declaration, and submit the form.

Step 11: In the last step, pay the application fee (which is category-specific) in online mode using credit or debit cards, or net banking.

Step 12: Note that in addition to the exam fee, candidates will have to pay an additional INR 500 if they want to opt for previous years’ question papers.

Step 13: Save the application confirmation slip and take a printout of the application for future reference.

CLAT 2024: Revised Exam Pattern

It is important to note that CLAT 2024 has undergone some changes in its exam pattern. In this edition, the exam will consist of 120 questions, which candidates must complete within a maximum of two-hour time frame. The test will encompass five sections:

1. English, including comprehension

2. Current affairs, including general knowledge

3. Legal reasoning

4. Logical reasoning

5. Quantitative techniques

For every correct answer, candidates will earn one mark, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect response.
