FC Goa Head Coach Juan Ferrando has tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently self-isolating, according to the guidelines. The club made the announcement and added that the Spaniard is “in good health at the moment and showing no symptoms.” The club further said that it will be monitoring the situation and “will provide all the necessary support” and continue following “all protocols relating to Covid-19.”
FC Goa further said in their release that rest of the players and staff have all tested negative and testing within the camp continues regularly.
“The club urges anyone who came in contact with Ferrando in the past few days to get themselves tested and take necessary precautions,” FC Goa’s press release stated.
FC Goa’s staff members, which included Ferrando, had played a friendly with Fan Club Army, which included the fans of two of FC Goa prominent fan groups ‘FC Goa Fan Club’ and ‘East Lower Army’. FC Goa staff had lost 3-6 in that game but Ferrando had scored a goal.
FC Goa are set to begin their AFC Champions League campaign on April 14 in their home ground as India got the hosting rights for the group.
FC Goa play Al Rayyan on April 14 and April 26, Persepolis on April 20 and April 23 and another team (yet to be confirmed) on April 17 and April 29.
