Lucknow Super Giants, who are yet to win the Indian Premier League (IPL) title, have retained their star players, who performed well for them in the past season, ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.

Gautam Gambhir’s departure will be a big blow but the players themselves who have been the star performers for them have been kept in the side. Andy Flower too departed from the role of head coach.
But, former Australian head coach Justin Langer has been brought in to lead the team to the promised land, as LSG would be hoping that third time’s the charm.
LSG have already traded Avesh Khan for Devdutt Padikkal from Royal Challengers Bangalore, the first trade ahead of the start of the season.
LSG also released the likes of Romario Shepard to Mumbai Indians.
Despite having Mark Wood, Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, Yash Thakur and Naveen-ul-Haq, LSG will need more fast bowlers, to have variety and squad strength to prepare for any surface and pitch. Ideally, they will look for one Indian and one overseas fast bowler.
But with their restrictive and tight budget, LSG are not expected to blow away their opponents in the race for the players they want.
